CHINES TEA CEREMONY – A SESSION OF SPIRITUAL RELAXATION AND TASTING

In China tea-tasting tradition appeared several thousands years ago. Numerous ways of making tea intended for different purposes have been invented since then. That is how everyday tea-drinking and exquisite ways of tea tasting were “born”.

In the West, because tea drinking invokes sublime and solemn feelings, the action was given another name – “ceremony”.

In Chinese, tea action sounds as “Gun-fu Cha”. “Gun-fu” means “the greatest skills” and “Cha” means “tea”. The whole phrase has the following meaning – “the greatest skills of making tea”.

Having “Gun-fu Cha” there are four things about the tea to enjoy – shape of leaves, color of tea, fragrance and taste.

Traditionally tea drinking is related to special spending of time – guests are supposed to express respect and care towards usual things such as cups, tea pots, water, fire, emptiness, fullness, tremor, move etc.

The atmosphere of the ceremony is filled with talking, silence, music, aroma smell, thinking about something wonderful and relaxation. The energy gained in a process of tea-making ritual spreads over the next life periods and helps to reach appropriate attitude towards reality and life values.

No one can live in harmony with the rest of the world until finding piece inside yourself.
