CAUCASIAN
MINERAL WATERS RESORT
The
Caucasian Mineral Waters region (of the spa resorts cities of
Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Essentuki, and Zheleznovodsk) a unique,
specially protected ecological nature-resort region of the Russian
Federation, whose own natural medical resources have no analogue on the
European and Asian continents.
Mineral
springs are the basic riches and main treatment methods in the resorts
of Caucasian Mineral Waters. More that 300 curative mineral springs are
concentrated in this unique corner, encircled by the picturesque ring
of the Caucasian Mountains. For as long as anyone can remember, these
mountains have attracted vacationers. At the dawn of the existence of
the resorts of Caucasian Mineral Waters, doctor A. Tseye wrote,
“It is unusual that in the whole world, in such a small space
would arise so many various curative waters.”
Hydrogen-sulfide, radon, carbonic, salty-alkaline, hydrocarbon-sulfide,
sodium-calcium, and high temperature waters are located there. However,
this far from the entire list of waters used to cure illnesses of the
stomach, intestines, liver, gall bladder, kidneys, nervous system,
vascular system, and motor system. The waters are also used to treat
dermatological diseases and disorders of the metabolic system.
Treatments at the Caucasian Mineral Waters are mainly a combination of
balneological resources: mineral waters, mud, and a curative climate.
The Pearl of the Caucasus, which is what the region of the Caucasian
Mineral Waters is called, is famous not only for balneological and
climactic resorts. Pyatigorsk and Kislovodsk, which are included in
Russia’s list of 115 historical towns, have preserved for
centuries the most interesting architectural monuments. There are quite
a few beautiful works of architecture in Essentuki and Zheleznovodsk.
The rich cultural heritage connected with such remarkable people as
Pushkin, Lermontov, Yaroshenko and Shalyapina also attracts people to
this region.
In the environs of Caucasian Mineral Waters there are quite a few
remarkable places which draw attention to the region’s
beautiful nature, climate, historical monuments, and cultural
monuments. The closeness of the mountain peaks; the remarkable beauty
of the valleys; lush vegetation; fresh, alpine meadows; noisy, azure
waterfalls; rapid, clear rivers; abundant mineral springs; and
exceptionally clean, pure air saturated with the tart aroma of pine
resin attract people to this place.
It is worth it to remember, that the Russian and foreign
mountain-skiing resorts occupying Dombai and Elbrus are not least among
experts and beginners. Magnets such as: various high-class tracks, an
abundance of sunny days, and crystal clear air all attract alpinists
and mountain-skiers. The bright overalls; happy, suntanned faces;
remarkable routes; and the ecstasy of the grandeur of the mountains
– these things epitomize Dombai and Elbrus.
Indelible
memories will remain with you and after traveling though the uniquely
fabulous beauty of the hidden corners of the North and Central Caucasus
– Teberdu, Arkhiz, Damhurtz. The nature reserves of the
Western Caucasus, filled with harmony of the plant and animal world and
the divine beauty of nature are perfect for the person who wants to
find peace and serenity, improve health, and to relax from noise and
bustle of the city.
The
resorts of The Caucasian Mineral Waters Regions are some of the oldest
in Russia. This is the place of rest for Russian aristocracy and up
till now has not lost popularity among those who love to go
“to the waters.” Nevertheless, now such trips are
not only fashionable types of relaxation, but also a pleasing and
effective means to restore one’s health.
